Description
Though Scar seemed to shrug off most of what he SHOULD have been doing... I would think this would be one he may actually do. Not to protect them from other male lions. But as both leverage with the lionesses and to make sure the Hyenas don't get any ideas. After all the lionesses wouldn't go hunting unless someone was watching their cubs. The less food to find meant more of them had to go out hunting. Eventually leaving only Scar to be the one left at Priderock with the cubs. And if he didn't watch them then some hyena may decide they were too hungry to wait for the lionesses to return. So he would watch them... though reluctantly.
So here is Scar with tiny cubs, Vitani and Kovu. The older cubs are probably in a pile nearby sleeping.
I've read a lot of different fan reviews about Scar.
My belief about him is that he at least tried to be a good father.
First he had a son Mehetu (Mhetu), Nala's younger brother, with his childhood sweetheart Serafina.
Then he met Zira, with whom he found common ground quite quickly and made her officially his queen. Their first born child was a boy, and Scar was very happy. But it turned out that the little one was weak, his name Nuka.
After that, Scar and Zira tried many more times before their daughter Vitani was born. She wasn't perfect either, because she was smaller than average, but she grew strong and persistent over time.
Kovu? Well, I know that incest is common in royal families, but I'm more in favor of Zira killing the kid's parents and then pretending to Scar that Kovu was her son (I can easily believe that Zira can do this).
